Cyclist Development

Tanzanian cycling team road riding

Our aim is to empower young Tanzanian cyclists by fostering their growth and development within the sport, while preparing them for life itself.

We are working to build a clear pathway for Tanzanian cyclists from grassroots to national and international competition, while also developing in them the discipline, confidence, and life skills that produce capable, employable young adults — whether or not they ever race professionally.

Tanzanian girls' cycling team

The next step in that pathway is the Pasha Training Centre — Tanzania's first dedicated indoor cycling training and development base, currently under construction in Olasiti, Arusha.

The centre will support a much larger team with structured Zwift training, food stipends, coaching, and race travel — with a clear focus on developing female cyclists alongside male riders.

Richard Laizer Arusha Tanzania

Leading the programme is Richard Laizer, a former professional cyclist who raced in South Africa and Europe before returning home to invest in Tanzania's next generation.

Richard’s dedication and expertise are instrumental in shaping the future of cycling in Arusha and Tanzania.
